About Me

That's me, sometimes I'm Jo and other times, Joanne. Both are me and either is used. I am a qualified, experienced counsellor based in Shropshire, with premises on the edge of Wellington.

As a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists, I follow their Ethical framework. I offer an empathetic, humanist approach working with you to develop a greater sense of well-being. I aim to make counselling an accessible experience by offering a confidential, trusting, safe therapeutic relationship within a calm and welcoming environment.

I can support you to explore emotional challenges and conflicts in a non-judgemental space in order to find acceptance or resolution for a wide range of issues.

My experience includes counselling within a mental health charity, a NHS trust contract, via the staff counselling and support service and private practice. These range from brief therapy to long term work.

Being Yew is something that I believe is central to me and my beliefs. A yew tree has been part of my life for many years. It offers new life, is able to walk and move forward. Perhaps what you are looking for and wondering how to go about it.

Many believe that they are solely poisonous, though when understood offer clarity, growth and integrity. People arrive at the beginning, unsure how they can work out how they can alter how they feel, behave or understand. I understand that and offer the safe space to enable that to happen: to be heard for your words and experience.
